collaboration with Goethe Institute in Khartoum, Sudan Film Factory
presents “Pitching Ideas and Writing Proposals for Funding Workshop” as
one of the parallel events of Sudan Independent Film Festival – 2016
Edition.
The Workshop will be held at Goethe Institute in Khartoum and will take place form the 22nd of January to the 26th of January 2016.

“Pitching Ideas and Writing Proposals for Funding”
“Technics of storytelling in Fiction and Documentary”
Participants arrive at the workshop with an idea for a Documentary / Fiction (short or feature)
Over the course of the workshop they will learn know-how to develop this idea further into a proposal on their own. The workshop will give them a clear idea about how to write synopsis, treatment, and budget, through lecture, brainstorming sessions and working groups. They will also learn about some basic technics of story-telling that are relevant for writing, shooting and editing of a film through screening of film-excerpts and discussions.
15 advanced film makers, who have already produced documentaries, fiction films, advertising as producers/ directors on a professional level.
Participants from both genders will be selected
Participation in the workshop is free of charge

About the Workshop Presenter:
Shaheen
Dil-Riaz – Biography Shaheen Dill-Riaz is a filmmaker, director,
producer and writer based in Berlin. He was born in Dhaka, the capital
of Bangladesh, in 1969, and he moved to Berlin in the early 90s to study
art history and theatrical science at the Freie Universität Berlin. He
later enrolled at the University of Film & Television Konrad Wolf
Potsdam-Babelsberg, where he graduated in cinematography with his
feature-length film Sand and Water (2002). His works include The
Happiest People (2005), the critically acclaimed film Ironeaters (2008),
which earned Dill-Riaz the renowned Grimme Award. Shaheen Dill-Riaz is
also a Fellow at the “Cultural Foundations of Integration” Center of
Excellence at the University of Konstanz, Germany, where he has been
working as a guest-lecturer for the M.A. program “Studies in European
Culture” in 2010 and 2012.
